Ljubljana Stock Exchange’s Successful year 2014

Year 2014 was again marked by the growth of the Slovene stock exchange market and witnessed a series of encouraging numbers. The Ljubljana Stock Exchange benchmark index SBI TOP again finished the year positively and equity market capitalization increased due to equity price increases and capital increases. It is especially important to stress that total turnover increased by 75.2% in comparison to the previous year.

In 2014 Slovenian listed companies again gained in their value. The LJSE benchmark index SBI TOP was up 19.6% year-to-date for the third consecutive year and is standing at 784.12 points on the last trading day.

The total LJSE turnover in 2014 amounted to EUR 686.3 million and turnover without blocks to EUR 460.1 million, up 49.9% compared to 2013. The majority of turnover comprised equity deals, which amounted to EUR 608.1 million or 88.6% of the total turnover. According to turnover structure, bonds followed with 10.1% and commercial papers with 1.3% share in total turnover.

The most traded share in 2014 was again Krka (KRKG) from the Prime Market, which generated 27.0% of the total equity turnover. The second largest contributor to overall annual equity turnover was Letrika (IALG), which generated 11.1% of all equity deals, while the third most traded company was Pivovarna Laško (PILR), which contributed 8.9% of all equity deals.

In 2014 there was also a significant increase of interest in Slovenian listed companies evidenced by the increase in equity turnover by 103.1% in comparison to the previous year. The total equity market capitalization, which amounted to EUR 6,214.0 million, also increased due to equity price increases and capital increases.

In 2014 LJSE had 8 new bond listings, which were issued in the total value of EUR 3,671.8 million. In addition, there were 6 capital increases in the total amount of EUR 214.5 million and 5 issues of commercial papers in the total amount of EUR 190 million.
