Patent for olanzapine active pharmaceutical ingredient in Germany

Krka, d.d., Novo mesto (hereafter Krka) is informing the public that Krka has stopped selling its product Zalasta in Germany trough its subsidiary TAD Pharma GmbH after the Federal Supreme Court decided that the patent protecting the active pharmaceutical ingredient olanzapine per se remains in force in Germany. TAD Pharma has been selling the product on the German market since November 2007, after the Federal Patent Court revoked the above mentioned patent.

Up to the present, TAD Pharma has sold EUR 2 million of this product.
