TELEKOM SLOVENIJE, d.d., Ljubljana

Telekom Slovenije Group Generates €39.9 Million in Net Profit in 2016, which is 16% above the Plan

Pursuant to the provisions of the Rules of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the valid legislation, Telekom Slovenije, d.d., hereby publishes the following notification:

At its 51st regular meeting held on Wednesday, 22 February 2017, the Supervisory Board of Telekom Slovenije, d.d. discussed the Information on the Telekom Slovenije Group and Telekom Slovenije, d.d. Business Results for 2016.

Through successful implementation of the activities set forth in the corporate strategy, consistent monitoring of the company business performance and quick response to change, the Telekom Slovenije Group met and exceeded its key financial objectives for 2016. The Group reached the EBITDA of €199.3 million, which is above the target, and generated the net profit of €39.9 million, which is 16% or 5.6 million above the target.

The Group’s net sales revenue reached €701.7 million in 2016, which is one percent or €8.3 million above the plan. Compared to last year, the net sales revenue was down 4% on 2015, however the figures from these two years cannot be directly compared, as One’s results were also included in the Group’s fully consolidated results until 31 July 2015. A comparison of revenues in 2015 excluding One indicates that the net revenues generated during 2016 were €5.7 million or 1% higher than those generated in 2015.The net profit is also not comparable to that achieved in 2015 due to the one-off effect of the exclusion of One in 2015. In this year Telekom Slovenije and the Telekom Austria Group established a new company in Macedonia, in which the former holds a 45% participating interest and the latter holds a 55% participating interest. The memorandum of association includes conditions for Telekom Slovenije’s withdrawal from the newly established company within three years. In accordance with the relevant standards, the effects of that withdrawal are recorded in the period in which the merger occurs, which is 2015.

In 2016 Telekom Slovenije generated a net sales revenue of €639.5 million, which is €5.4 million or 1% up on 2015. In 2016 Telekom Slovenije generated a revenue of €28 million from the ICT services, which is up 6% on 2015 when the company had doubled the revenues compared to the preceding period. Further, following its strategy and the objective to obtain new sources of revenues, Telekom Slovenije is also entering other markets to provide new services to its customers.

In 2016 the Telekom Slovenije Group entered a new investment cycle, with the total of €147.7 million allocated for investment, which is 23% more than in 2015. €130.8 million was invested by Telekom Slovenije, with the main part allocated for the modernisation and development of broadband optic fibre networks and the fourth-generation networks. Similar investments are also planned for 2017. This way we are creating a platform for developing and including new services, as the trends have shown that a key feature of future communications will be (mobile and fixed) broadband connectivity, which will enable the operators to shift to a full digitalisation, management of devices and services, communication and connectivity between devices, and development of integrated smart solutions.

Through investment in the network expansion and upgrade the Telekom Slovenije Group increased the number of broadband and IPTV connections in 2016, which is one of its key strategic policies. Telekom Slovenije thus achieved a 2% increase in the number of broadband connections, and a 5% increase in the number of IPTV connections. In the Southeast Europe markets the number of broadband connections was up 12%.

Telekom Slovenije Supervisory Board gave its consent to ending the term of office of Igor Bohorč, MSc, the CEO of Blicnet d.o.o., Banja Luka, on 1 March 2017. From this date, Igor Bohorč, MSc is taking on the position of the B2B department director at Telekom Slovenije. The Supervisory Board also gave its consent to appointing the current marketing director Simon Furlan, MSc, as the CEO of Blicnet d.o.o., Banja Luka, for the period of two years beginning on 1 March 2017.
