In accordance with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange Rules and the applicable legislation, ZAVAROVALNICA TRIGLAV d.d., Ljubljana hereby publishes the following notice:

At its session held on 17 August 2017, the Supervisory Board agreed with the proposal of the President of the Management Board and appointed Barbara Smolnikar a new Management Board member for a five-year term. She will be responsible for life and pension insurance, which represent important segments of Triglav Group. In order to perform the function of a member of the Management Board of Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d., she is required to obtain a relevant licence of the Insurance Supervision Agency.

Barbara Smolnikar has extensive experience in insurance and general financial sector. She is a long-standing President of the Management Board of NLB Vita, življenjska zavarovalnica d.d., Ljubljana (life insurance company).  Ms Smolnikar earned her undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana (1992), where she also completed her postgraduate studies (2010). She received her PhD from Bled School of Management – IEDC (2016). 

“I believe that the new member of the Management Board will contribute to the implementation of  Triglav Group’s strategy with her knowledge, experience and personal attributes. Our aim is to develop the Group into a modern, innovative and dynamic insurance/financial group. Our strategic activities are actively upgraded by taking into account the existing and future needs of our clients. With her appointment, we are placing even greater emphasis on life and pension insurance segments, where we identified opportunities for growth both in Slovenia and the region,” said Andrej Slapar, President of the Management Board of Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d.

“The Supervisory Board unanimously agreed with the proposal of the President of the Management Board for the appointment of Barbara Smolnikar as the new Management Board member. On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I wish her every success in achieving the strategic objectives of the Group,” said Igor Stebernak, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d.

After the expiry of his term as a Management Board member on 2 November 2017, Benjamin Jošar will assume new responsibilities and continue his successful career within Triglav Group. Igor Stebernak, President of the Supervisory Board, thanked Mr Jošar for his contribution to the development and performance of the Group and wished him every success in his new tasks within the Group. Andrej Slapar, President of the Management Board of Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d., said: “I would like to thank Mr Jošar for his work and I’m pleased that he will as a member of senior management continue to significantly contribute to the further strengthening of the Triglav Group with his knowledge and experience.”
