Trading on the Slovene stock exchange market in 2013

Year 2013 was marked by moderate growth of the Slovene stock exchange market. The Ljubljana Stock Exchange benchmark index SBI TOP again finished the year positively. It is especially encouraging that year 2013 has seen better liquidity as the turnover increased for 8.7% in comparison to the previous year.

In 2013 Slovenian listed companies again gained in their value. The LJSE benchmark index SBI TOP was up 3.17% year-to-date for the second consecutive year and is standing at 655.66 points on the last trading day.

The total LJSE turnover in 2013 amounted to EUR 392 million, up to 8.7% compared to 2012. Turnover without blocks amounted to EUR 307 million, up 11.9% compared to 2012. The majority of turnover comprised equity deals, which amounted to EUR 299 million or 76% of the total turnover. According to turnover structure, bonds followed with 22% and commercial papers with 1% share in total turnover.

The most traded share in 2013 was again Krka (KRKG) from the Prime Market, which generated 40% of the total equity turnover. The second largest contributor to overall annual equity turnover was Zavarovalnica Triglav (ZVTG), which generated 16% of all equity deals, while the third most traded company was Telekom Slovenija (TLSG), which contributed 11% of all equity deals.

Equity market capitalization, which amounted to EUR 5,173 million, also increased in 2013. In 2013 LJSE had 6 new bond listings, which were issued in the total value of EUR 1,091.26 million. In addition, there were 5 capital increases in the total amount of EUR 86.5 million and 6 issues of commercial papers in the total amount of EUR 135 million.
