LUKA KOPER, d.d., Koper

Business Operations during the Covid-19 Epidemic

In line with the call of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding (in Slov. SDH d.d.) on companies with the State's capital investment on 12 March 2020, the company Luka Koper, d.d. hereby releases a public information for the investor community and the public concerned regarding the conditions and measures related to the spread of Covid-19.

The Port of Koper is a facility of special importance for the defence and economy of the Republic of Slovenia and has the status of a critical infrastructure facility. Luka Koper, d.d. in its capacity as concession-holder in the Port of Koper, has developed a crisis response plan, including an epidemic. Even before the first case of coronavirus infection in Slovenia, Luka Koper, d.d. established a working group in charge of adopting measures to prevent the spread of the infection. The plan and response measures are verified and implemented in a phased manner. Their purpose is to ensure the continuous functioning of the company, with the aim of ensuring the safety of people and property.

The company has also adopted a marine- and land-based protocol that is coordinated with the National Institute for Public Health and all state bodies exercising their authority in the port area. In addition to these measures, the company has taken a number of additional measures, which include: adjusting work schedules and processes to reduce direct contact between employees, organizing work with a focus on remote access and remote meetings, and toughening self-protection and hygiene measures. The company communicates all adopted measures and activities promptly to internal and external public, business partners and all stakeholders concerned.

Due to the complexity of the global logistics situation, we will be able to assess the impact of the epidemic on transhipment and business ex-post, possibly as part of the business reporting for the first quarter of this year, which, according to the financial calendar, is scheduled for the end of May 2020. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to predict the consequences at this moment as shipping companies and other stakeholders in the supply chains adapt their operations to the current situation. It is also impossible to foresee the consequences of the measures taken by the countries in Europe and elsewhere. Luka Koper is constantly in touch with the shipping companies and all other business partners, we are monitoring the situation and adapting to changes. Work operations in the port proceed normally. However, in the event of serious disturbances in the business operations, we shall notify the public concerned in a timely manner.
