INI-1055/10 GORENJE, d.d., Velenje Gorenje has not signed a letter of intent on opening a manufacturing plant in Zaječar
Based on the regulations of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the legislation in force, the company Gorenje, d.d., is publishing the following announcement:
Responding to false reports in the Serbian media maintaining that Gorenje signed a preliminary agreement on opening a manufacturing plant in Zaječar, Serbia, Gorenje hereby announces the following explanation.
The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia presented to Gorenje representatives the possibilities of investments into industrial facilities in town of Zaječar. Consistently with the policies of further internationalization of production, laid out and adopted in its strategic plan, Gorenje is determined to closely monitor any opportunities for acquisitions or other lucrative investments, and to study each opportunity that could result in positive effects on performance and future development of the Gorenje Group. Gorenje Management Board stresses that discussions on investment opportunities are in their very early, introductory stage. No document has been signed in this respect and no decision has yet been made.
Should Gorenje decide in the middle run to invest in Zaječar, Serbia, the company will – pursuant to the corporate communication guidelines for publicly traded companies – inform the shareholders and general public thereof in a proactive and timely manner.
