Yesterday, 31st May 2010, the vessel Hyundai Supreme sailed from the South Korean port of Pusan. This is the first of eight container carriers servicing a new direct container line between the Far East and the Northern Adriatic. The service has been established by four operators Hanjin Shipping, (South-Korea) Hyundai Merchant Marine (South-Korea), Yang Ming Line (Taiwan) and the United Arab Shipping Company (Kuwait). The vessels will traverse a route linking Pusan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantian - Singapore - Colombo - Jeddah - Port Said - Alexandria - Mersin - Koper - Trieste - Rijeka - Venice - Port Said - Singapore - Hong Kong - Pusan. Hyundai Supreme is expected in Koper on 27th June. The Port of Koper is now connected with the Far East by two direct container line services. The first was jointly established last year by CMA-CGM (France) and Maersk (Denmark).
