Gorenje to shift cooker manufacturing facilities from Finland to Czech Republic

Shifting is a part of the manufacturing facility optimization process

Pursuant to relevant legislation, the company Gorenje, d.d., Velenje, Slovenia, hereby informs the shareholders and the public of the following:

Velenje, Lahti/Finland, March 5 2012 –By September 2012, Gorenje will have moved its cooker manufacturing facilities from Lahti, Finland, to their cooking appliance factory Mora Moravia in Czech Republic. The factory in Finland will have closed its doors by July 2012. Gorenje acquired the Finnish cooker factory with the takeover of the Scandinavian manufacturer Asko. The shifting is a part of the process of restructuring Gorenje Group's manufacturing facilities in order to attain the goals laid down in the Strategic Plan for the period 2012-2015.

Gorenje acquired the Finnish cooker factory with the takeover of the Scandinavian manufacturer of home appliances Asko in 2010. Last year's production output was approximately 53,000 cookers. There are currently 106 employees at the factory.

The process of shifting the production will have been completed by September 2012 when the production of the same cookers is scheduled for launch at Gorenje's Mora Moravia factory in the Czech Republic. This measure will go a long way in optimizing the production costs at the level of the entire Gorenje Group and increasing Gorenje competitiveness.
