Some media have published deficient information on the five-year development programme of the Port of Koper, which between 2011 and 2015 anticipates Luka Koper d.d. investing nearly € 200 million into the modernisation of the port and its infrastructure.

In compliance with Item 7.9.2 of its Concession Agreement with the Republic of Slovenia, Luka Koper has drafted technical bases for the port’s development programme which it has submitted to the competent state authorities; this framework is currently subject to interdepartmental co-ordination. We want to point out that the programme is merely an indicative plan for the development of port infrastructure, and foresees annual modifications and supplements on the basis of market requirements as well as the concessionaire's financial capacities.
