Correction to the article published in the daily Paper Dnevnik
In accordance to the article under the title" Lovšin also encounters entanglements in Montenegro« by the author Tatjana Tanackovič, published on the 12 of March 2008 in the paper Dnevnik, on page 21, we announce the request to correction to this article sent to paper Dnevnik.
Both the title and the contents are disputable and misleading. The reader gets an impression that Intereuropa was allegedly surprised by the investigation in the Company Zetatrans A.D. Podgorica, or implies that the operations of both Intereuropa and Zetatrans A.D. were in any way affected and moreover, the integration of Zetatrans into the corporate network of Intereuropa be impeded, which is not true. In the course of our acquisition of the company Zetatrans A.D. Podgorica we were keeping the public informed in accordance with all the regulations applicable to that issue. Among other things, we also informed the public that the purchase of the majority share in this Company followed after two due diligence inspections delivered by a reputable audit firm. In addition, we released the information to the public that already during our negotiations on the acquisition of that company we were knowledgeable of the investigation by the Montenegrin bodies of prosecution focused on the operations of Zetatrans A.D. in the past. Intereuropa has carefully dealt with any potential risks, including the risks arising from the investigating acts, and analysed them in the course of the purchase to assure a safe acquisition of the Montenegrin company. Your paper was also reporting on that, among other press media. In the light of that, your comment that the purchase was like buying 'a pig in a poke' is contrary to fact and offensive for our company.
In her assertions, »He also encounters problems in Montenegro, where « and further, »That was recently confirmed by« the author alleges that the Montenegrin prosecution authorities confirmed that it was "somehow" questionable and »maybe« concerned illegal operations, and concurrently alleges that the Montenegrin Police »ascertained« that some embezzlement was involved. Thereby, the author implies to the readers that the criminal act was definitely there, as if former executives of the company Zetatrans A.D. were already found guilty, or in other words, that there is no doubt of their guilt: those allegations are contrary to fact. The decision on whether the criminal act was committed, or whether it was committed by a certain person, and the decision on the criminal liability assumed by such person is adopted neither by the Police nor by the Prosecution, but only by the competent court with a Judgement; moreover, such a Judgement can only be relied on after it has become unappealable (final). By these disputable allegations, the author has breached the underlying principle of the rule of law - the ''presumption of innocence'', by which it directly compromises the good reputation of the company Zetatrans A.D. and indirectly affects the Intereuropa Group - the Parent Company of the Montenegrin company. Thereby, Intereuropa as the acquirer of the majority interest in this company is again unjustly and unduly labelled as a Company dealing with questionable transactions and lacking the control and diligence in its operations.
Public Announcement will be available on SEO-net and the website of INTEREUROPA d.d. www.intereuropa.si from 14th March 2008.
