LUKA KOPER, d.d., Koper

Company's official response to allegations of mistreatment in the workplace at Luka Koper

In accordance with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange Rules and the applicable legislation, Luka Koper d.d. hereby publishes the following notice:

At Luka Koper, we deny all the allegations made by the Trade Union of Maritime Crane Operators about alleged mistreatment in the workplace as stated in the union’s letter of 12 April 2023 addressed to the media, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, the Slovenian State Holding and the local community.

The union cites as examples the recent damage incident at the Container Terminal and the allegedly inappropriate action taken against two employees by Luka Koper.

In this regard, we provide the following explanation:
We would like to clarify at the outset that neither the President of the Management Board nor the Management Board is operationally involved in the procedures related to the establishment of the circumstances of the recent accident at the Container Terminal. As is usual in such cases, the professional services and the management of the Container Terminal are carrying out the relevant procedures in accordance with internal rules and the applicable legislation.

The circumstances of the case are currently being examined, including the relevant parties’ involvement in the accident, as the initial findings suggest that there are reasonable grounds to suspect a failure to exercise due care and diligence. Once these have been examined, the procedure will be concluded accordingly.
