Gorenje became a major stakeholder of Surovina

Gorenje is strengthening Its role in the environmental protection area

On 31 January 2007, Gorenje, d.d., purchased from Probanka, d.d., a 23.4 % share in the company Surovina, d.d., Maribor, that effectively translates into 51 % of all shares in Surovina, d.d. With this purchase, in total amount of EUR 5,797,841 Gorenje is continuing the strategy of strengthening It's role in the area of environmental protection, which is in accordance to the implementation of the directive on the recycling of electronic and electrical waste (WEEE Directive).

Also today, the Gorenje company Kemis, d.o.o., Zagreb, Croatia, signed the purchase agreement of 100% share in Termoclean, d.o.o., Zagreb, Croatia.

The Environmental Protection and Energy business area has been identified in Gorenje Strategic Plan as business activity with notable growth potential. The goal is to provide the market with comprehensive solutions when it comes to the management of waste, in particular to industrial users in Slovenia and in the markets of SE Europe.
