A successful first half of 2007

On the 19th of July 2007, the supervisory board held its regular session. The management board delivered the information about company's business performance in the first half of 2007. In the first six months of 2007, Luka Koper d.d. generated 56 million euros in operating revenues, which is a year-on increase of 13 percent.

A positive trend was also registered in maritime throughput, which in the taken period amounted to 7.7 million tons and that means a 6 percent increase compared to last year. An exceptional increase in cargo handling is being recorded by the container terminal (147,000 TEUs, 40% more than the first half of 2006) and the car terminal (230,000 units, 19% more than the first half of 2006).

The operating profit exceeded last year's by 19 percent and amounted to 11.8 million euros while the net profit exceeded last year's by 55% and amounted to 14.9 million euros.

The supervisory board adopted the decision to relieve Mr. Marko Starman, Msc, off his duties of president of the supervisory board and appointed Mr. Boris Popovič.
