Pursuant to relevant legislation, the company Poslovni sistem Mercator, d.d., hereby informs the shareholders and the public of the following:

 
Based on the decision of creditor banks of Merkur Group, that they support the integrity of Merkur and that its individual parts of the Group are not sold separately, companies Merfin and Mercator yesterday decided to stop all activities, agreed in the letter of intent for strategic combination between the trade division of Merkur and Mercator Group. Considering new facts, the strategic combination, as it was foreseen in the letter of intent, is not feasible.

Mercator will be open for investigating other possibilities for strategic combinations with the trade division of Merkur in the frame of its strategic plans.


This announcement will be published on the company’s website at www.mercator.si as of June 24th 2010, and will remain posted for a period of at least five years.
